Importing Files from Packs
Learn how to import files from existing Packs into products, reuse Pack contents, and work efficiently with Pack files.
What is “Import from Packs”?
Section titled “What is “Import from Packs”?”The “Import from Packs” feature allows you to quickly add files from an existing Pack to:
- A new Pack you’re creating
- An existing Pack you’re editing
- A product mapping (without creating a Pack)
Why Use This Feature?
Section titled “Why Use This Feature?”Instead of manually selecting files one by one, you can:
- ✅ Grab all files from an existing Pack at once
- ✅ Reuse successful Pack combinations
- ✅ Quickly create Pack variations
- ✅ Save time on product mapping
Importing Files into a New Pack
Section titled “Importing Files into a New Pack”Scenario
Section titled “Scenario”You want to create a “Pro Bundle” that includes all files from “Basic Bundle” plus extras.
Steps:
- Click Create New Pack
- Enter Pack title: “Pro Bundle”
- Instead of clicking “Add Files”, click Import from Packs
- Pack selector modal opens

Select Pack(s) to import from:
- Check box next to “Basic Bundle”
- Can select multiple Packs

Click Import Selected Files
- All files from Basic Bundle are added to your new Pro Bundle
- Add additional files as needed
- Save Pack
Importing Files into an Existing Pack
Section titled “Importing Files into an Existing Pack”Scenario
Section titled “Scenario”You want to add bonus files to an existing Pack without manually finding each file.
Steps:
- Open existing Pack in edit mode
- Click Import from Packs
- Select Pack containing the bonus files
- Click Import Selected Files
- Bonus files are added to current Pack
- Save changes
Importing Files When Mapping Products
Section titled “Importing Files When Mapping Products”Scenario
Section titled “Scenario”You’re mapping a product and want to include files from an existing Pack WITHOUT creating a new Pack.
Steps:
- Navigate to Products → Select product
- In product mapping page, click Add Files
- In file selector, look for Import from Pack option
- Select Pack to import from
- Choose to import:
- All files from Pack, or
- Select specific files from Pack
- Click Add to Product
- Files are added to product mapping
Note: This adds individual files to the product, not the Pack itself. The product won’t automatically update if the Pack changes.
Import Options
Section titled “Import Options”Import All Files
Section titled “Import All Files”Import every file from the selected Pack:
- Select Pack
- Click Import All Files
- All files added instantly
Best for:
- Duplicating entire Packs
- Including complete bundles
- Quick Pack variations
Import Selected Files
Section titled “Import Selected Files”Choose only specific files from a Pack:
- Select Pack
- Browse files within Pack
- Check boxes next to files you want
- Click Import Selected
Best for:
- Cherry-picking files from large Packs
- Creating custom combinations
- Adding only certain file types
Importing from Multiple Packs
Section titled “Importing from Multiple Packs”Combine files from several Packs:
- Click Import from Packs
- Check boxes next to multiple Packs
- Click Import from Selected Packs
- Files from all selected Packs are added
Example:
- Import from “Bonus Files Pack” (5 files)
- Import from “Templates Pack” (10 files)
- Result: 15 files added to your Pack/Product
Managing Imported Files
Section titled “Managing Imported Files”After Importing
Section titled “After Importing”Imported files behave just like manually added files:
You can:
- ✅ Reorder them
- ✅ Remove individual files
- ✅ Add more files
- ✅ Edit Pack/product normally
Handling Duplicates
Section titled “Handling Duplicates”If you import files that are already in the Pack/Product:
Default behavior: Duplicates are skipped
To include duplicates anyway:
- Enable “Allow Duplicates” option (if available)
- Or import and then manually remove unwanted duplicates

Basic Pack (10 files)
- Core templates

- Import all from Basic Pack

- Import all from Pro Pack
- Add exclusive bonuses
- Result: 40 files
Use Case 2: Seasonal Variations

Summer Version
- Import from “Marketing Bundle”

Winter Version

Scenario: Product needs files from 3 different Packs
Traditional Method:
- Add files from Pack 1 individually
- Add files from Pack 2 individually
- Add files from Pack 3 individually Time: 10 minutes
Import Method:
- Import from Pack 1 (all files)
- Import from Pack 2 (all files)
- Import from Pack 3 (all files) Time: 30 seconds
Import from Packs Workflow Tips

Section titled “Tip 1: Create Master Packs”Build “Master Packs” as reusable templates:
Master Packs:
- “Core Files” (files used in every product)
- “Bonus Library” (bonus files to add occasionally)
- “Legal Files” (licenses, terms, etc.)
When creating new Packs:
- Import from “Core Files” Master Pack
- Add product-specific files
- Import from “Bonus Library” if applicable
- Done!
Tip 2: Organize Packs for Importing

Bad Structure:
- Mega Pack with 200 random files
- Hard to find what you need
Good Structure:
- “Video Lessons” Pack (just videos)
- “Workbooks” Pack (just PDFs)
- “Resources” Pack (supporting files)
- Import combinations as needed
Tip 3: Use Naming Conventions
Section titled “Tip 3: Use Naming Conventions”Name Packs so you know what’s inside:
Descriptive Names:
- “Video Course - Module 1” (clear what’s inside)
- “Templates - Social Media” (specific category)
- “Bonuses - eBooks Collection” (content type clear)
When importing, you can quickly identify which Pack has the files you need.
Import Permissions
Section titled “Import Permissions”What You Can Import

- All files in your library
- All Packs you’ve created
❌ Cannot import from:
- Other merchants’ Packs
- Deleted Packs
- Archived Packs (if archival feature exists)
Import Performance

Frequently Asked Questions
Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”Q: If I import files from a Pack, then delete that Pack, what happens?
Section titled “Q: If I import files from a Pack, then delete that Pack, what happens?”A: Nothing. Imported files are independent. Deleting the source Pack doesn’t affect imported files.
Q: If I import files and then update the original Pack, do imports update?
Section titled “Q: If I import files and then update the original Pack, do imports update?”A: No. Imports are snapshots. Changes to source Pack don’t affect already-imported files.
Q: Can I import from a Pack that’s mapped to products?
Section titled “Q: Can I import from a Pack that’s mapped to products?”A: Yes. Importing doesn’t affect the source Pack’s product mappings.
Q: Does importing use more storage?
Section titled “Q: Does importing use more storage?”A: No. Files are only stored once. Importing just creates references to the same files.
Q: Can I undo an import?
Section titled “Q: Can I undo an import?”A: Yes, by manually removing the imported files. There’s no automatic undo, but you can delete them from the Pack/Product.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Import Button Grayed Out
Section titled “Import Button Grayed Out”Cause: No Packs exist to import from
Solution: Create at least one Pack first
No Files Appear After Import
Section titled “No Files Appear After Import”Causes:
- Selected Pack is empty
- Duplicates were skipped (all files already present)
Solution:
- Check source Pack has files
- Disable “Skip Duplicates” option
- Try different Pack
Import Takes Too Long
Section titled “Import Takes Too Long”Cause: Very large Pack (1000+ files)
Solution:
- Wait for background processing
- Import smaller Packs
- Import in batches
